Ahrens Companies designed and constructed this award-winning 9,899 sq ft expansion to Rotortech Services’ 37,940 sq ft aviation hangar at West Palm Beach International Airport. Built entirely using a pre-engineered metal building system, the addition supports aircraft maintenance and equipment storage while meeting the fast-paced demands of a high-performance aviation environment. Designed for cost efficiency, the project was completed in just six months.

The metal building system enabled rapid assembly, budget control, and seamless integration with the existing facility. Roof and wall panels from Behlen Building Systems, finished in Kynar Regal White and S.P. Polar White with Regal Blue and Galvalume accents, ensure durability, aesthetic cohesion, and long-term performance.

Functional requirements, including oversized roll-up doors, windows for natural light, and a custom hydraulic power lift door, were easily incorporated thanks to the flexibility of the metal building system. This fast-tracked, high-performance expansion highlights the advantages of metal building systems in aviation facilities while delivering cost-effective, operationally optimized space.
