Marion County Health Department
When Marion County, Kan., officials expressed a desire for an upgraded facility for its Health Department, GBS Enterprises answered the call, developing a modern, energy-efficient 5,800 sq. ft. building that’s as sophisticated as it is functional. Following a design plan from Alloy Architectural, a multidisciplinary team of architects, interior designers, and technical professionals in Wichita, the GBS team used pre-engineered metal building components to erect a one-story building that now comfortably supports the Health Department’s clinical care and administrative functions.
Completed in 2025, this multi-use building provides the department with the space it needs to offer a wide array of health-focused services to the area: patient care, immunizations, testing, and administration of many community safety and assistance programs.
The exterior canopy at the entry makes patient drop-off convenient and safe. Inside, there is a spacious reception area, a patient waiting room with a designated children’s play area, three exam rooms, a laboratory, and eight staff offices with supporting workspaces. Also included in the design was a conference room connected to the staff breakroom, multi-use storage areas, and an attached garage for department vehicles.
To enhance the overall look, woodgrain metal siding was used, along with full-height stonework on the front.
